I bought an Airport Extreme the other day and figured, what the heck, for an extra $100 Apple throws in a 2 TB HDD. I thought I might use it as a shared network disk for a couple of Mac systems. Or, I could use it as the Time Machine space for my MP and MBP. I have more than enough disk volumes to use an internal disk for TM.
I've come to the conclusion that it might not make such a great shared resource, because as a network resource SuperDuper can't see it as a clone-able volume.
I am curious if other folks are using a Time Capsule and what your experiences might be. Any performance issues I should know of? (I imagine it would be quite a bit slower than my internal Time Machine HDD.) I am attached to the TC with CAT5 and don't use wireless on my MP.
Should I be concerned about security issues since the files are on the local area network?
