Just wanted to make it known that the hidden addDisk and removeDisk features of Core Storage are now working (although you have to manually unmount the LV prior to removing a PV, and it seems to render the LV inoperable atm, the addDisk command works correctly though). This means that people with Mac Pros can already add their entire array of disks to an LVG, and remove the disks as needed (nondestructively, once the removeDisk command is working correctly). If I can figure out why the removeDisk command is rendering the disk inoperable I'll post back.
I think you Mac Pro users may finally be getting that update you've been waiting for. There's no other reason in my mind for Apple to be adding all this capability to Core Storage. Adding and removing disks doesn't have much value in an iMac where both disks are internal and difficult to access. Yes indeed. A new Mac Pro is on the horizon.
